typographic exercise 1
using found typographic form, find a word that has strong conotations and denotations. students were told to deconstruct or break the word apart formally then put it back together again to see if you can cause a shift in meaning in the word.




Site Investigations in Dayton, Ohio resulted in publications about the social significance of their assigned site. A vacuum cleaner repair shop that is on the verge of closing down, American Tire, a small independent tire shop, a small independently ran pharmacy that was established in the early 1950's and is directly across the street from a new Walgreens AND a Rite Aid

This is a documentation of a magazine that was designed by fine art students at the University of Dayton. Students worked in groups to investigate the social and cultural relevance of a vacuum cleaner repair shop in Dayton, Ohio. What can students of design and digital media produce collaboratively while gaining an understanding of the role of designer in contemporary culture? How can they learn the technological tools required to produce quality publication design while gaining a deeper understanding of contemporary culture and design
can impact our daily lives.
